The IPsec protocol enables the protection of exchanges between sites (VPN) or of remote access. This course is a technical presentation of IPsec, giving an overview of the features provided by this protocol and teaching how to deploy it. Several implementations (FW-1, Cisco IOS, Linux FreeS/WAN) are also presented and analysed via demonstrations.

The aims of this course are:

• Acquire a knowledge of the theorical and practical IPsec internals, so as to better understand what it can provide and to better approach the products.
• Learn how to configure IPsec VPN features of a set of devices.

2 days, spread over 3: 1 day of theorical course, followed by 2 half-days of practical course.

This practical and technical course is meant for network administrators and people who have to work on IPsec.
